Privacy Policy.

1. What We Collect

When you use Saved, we collect the following information:

  • A generated account identifier when you continue as a guest
  • Your name and email when you choose Sign in with Apple in the iOS app (you can choose to hide your email; we receive a private relay address instead)
  • Your chosen religious tradition (Christianity, Islam, or Judaism)
  • The text you type or speak when describing a problem
  • A voice recording when you choose voice input on the web. Saved sends it for transcription and does not retain the raw audio after the request completes
  • Scripture passages the app returns to you (your verse history)
  • Verses you bookmark or save
  • Payment information if you subscribe (processed by Stripe on the web or by Apple and RevenueCat in the iOS app, not stored by us)
  • Purchase and subscription status (managed by RevenueCat for iOS purchases)
  • Basic usage data (feature usage and app version)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to operate the App:

  • Your email is used only when you choose an account or email sign in method
  • Your query text is sent to DeepSeek to find matching scripture
  • Voice recordings are sent to OpenAI only to convert speech into text. The resulting text is then handled like a typed query
  • Your tradition preference determines which scripture library to search
  • Your query history lets you revisit past results
  • Your saved verses are displayed in your account

3. AI Processing

Your query text is sent to DeepSeek through the DeepSeek API. We send the text of your problem plus your selected tradition. DeepSeek processes this information under its own privacy policy and open platform terms, which may include processing and storage outside the United States. Do not enter emergency, medical, financial, or highly sensitive personal information. The AI does not generate or paraphrase verse text. It only selects references from canonical scripture. Full verse text is fetched separately from public domain or authorized sources and is never sent to DeepSeek for generation.

When you choose voice input on the web, the raw audio is sent to OpenAI through its API solely for speech transcription. Saved does not store the raw recording after transcription. The transcript may be stored as query text in your history. OpenAI processes the recording under its applicable API data handling and privacy terms.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Supabase, a hosted PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS (us-east-1). We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, Saved deletes the account and associated data from its active database. Payment processors and other service providers may retain limited transaction or security records when required by law or their applicable terms.

5. Payments

On the web, subscription payments are processed by Stripe. In the iOS app, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed with RevenueCat. We never see or store your full payment card number. Your account ID and purchase status are shared with RevenueCat to manage your subscription and restore purchases across devices. iOS subscriptions are canceled through your App Store account settings, not inside the app.

6. Third Party Services

Saved uses these third party services:

  • Resend for email delivery. Privacy policy: resend.com/privacy
  • bible-api.com, quran.com, and Sefaria for public domain scripture texts. Quran translations from quran.com are used per their content terms with attribution.

7. Cookies

Saved uses a session cookie (NextAuth) to keep you signed in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the App to function. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy (DeepSeek for verse matching, OpenAI for optional voice transcription on the web, Stripe and Apple with RevenueCat for payments, Resend for email, and Supabase for storage). We will disclose data if required by law.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data at any time from your account page
  • Delete your account and associated data from Saved's active database. In the iOS app this is in Settings under Delete Account, and it also disconnects your Sign in with Apple credentials. Active App Store subscriptions must be canceled separately in your App Store account settings.
  • Export your data by contacting us
  • Request correction of inaccurate data

10. Children

Saved is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
